The Advanced Fire Officer course is the second highest level of Fire Officer Certification Training in the State of Illinois. This course replaces Fire Officer II and meets all the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1021, Fire Officer II (2020).

The Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors’ Advanced Fire Officer (AdFO) Blended course is for Fire Officers who are working at or wish to work at the level of an Advanced Fire Officer and Senior Leader within your organization. Students who have yet to achieve the AdFO certification will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, skills and abilities to both succeed in this course and learn to lead at a higher level.
